Increasing Your Websites Sales

Anyone who has been marketing online knows that the lifeblood of a business is the traffic of a site. More visitors equal more sales. However, there are things you can do to increase your sales without increasing your traffic – thus increasing your conversion rate. Here are some ways that you can tweak your websites with to improve sales without the need to get more visitors.

First off make sure and add a personal touch to your sales pitch. Nobody wants to be sold to by a total stranger, but many people will buy what their close friends recommend to them. If you can convince your audience that you are a personal friend who has their best interest at heart, they will be convinced they need to buy your products. Remember to speak to an individual in your sales letter, not to your whole audience.

Next publish some testimonials and comments from your clients and customers. Now its important to note here that you don’t want to publish just the “you’re amazing” comments – you want real testimonials and honest customer feedback that way your prospects will not need much convincing that these testimonials are real. When prospects see testimonials on your website, they will have the confidence to buy from you because most people follow the herd mentality; when others have bought and proven it authentic, they will jump on the bandwagon and buy too.


Use visual representations for the problems and solutions that your product offers; or to help support the benefits your service offers. Not everyone will read your text copy from the head to the tail, but most people will pay attention to images on your website.

Furthermore images help, alot, in making things go viral and letting your customers share your products or services with their friends. A unique product with no images will have a significantly harder time getting others to share it with their friends. You’re now relying on clients and customers to take their own pictures – which can seem like a hassle to many who will often times just skip telling their friends about it.

Offer quality bonuses to accompany the product. When you offer bonuses that complement your product, your prospects will feel it’s a very good deal and it would be stupid to miss it. Be sure to state the monetary value of your bonuses so that people are be even more compelled to grab your good deal.

Finally, just ask for the sale! Many people entice their prospects with the benefits of their product, sell to them with stories of how it has solved many problems, made people extremely rich, even offered killer bonuses – and then they forget to ask for the sale. Give a clear instruction on how to buy your product (e.g. “click the button to buy now!”). Make sure your call to action is prominent, and easily accessible from a variety of locations on the sales page. Let your visitor know what you want them to do.

    You’ve made some great points here, that while they may seem obvious to some, I think they’re over looked quite a lot – such as your mention of a personal touch, images and especially testimonials that say more than just ‘you’re amazing’. They mean so little when a buyer is trying to find out about what you’re selling. Simply forgettable and something that I would personally just skim over, so I’m glad you’ve pointed out they’re important. Substance with your testimonials and personal flare really can get you a long way, I believe. Wonderful article!
