Late at the end of July Yahoo, quietly, released Curated Connections on Flickr – a program aimed at helping photographers to partner with photo agencies, editors, bloggers and other creative minds who are looking for original content. More-so Flickr seems to be taking on the grunt work here making it extremely easy to license your photos:
Getting discovered for creative opportunities is as easy as being a Flickr member and uploading the photos you love. Flickr’s curators are searching for exciting and credible opportunities for you to share your exceptional photography. They will reach out to you via Flickr Mail and provide details on Flickr’s licensing program.
The company is also looking for ways to showcase people’s photos on the Flickr blog and across various other Yahoo properties like Yahoo News and Yahoo Travel. It seems that original photo assignments are going to be organized as well.
This seems to be a good idea for Yahoo users and, really, anyone with a passion for photography – and as we all know have iPhone, will be professional photographer. The fact that Yahoo’s departments will be doing all the work to discover talented people is particularly useful.
People can sign up for the Flickr Marketplace and increase their chances to be discovered, which will certainly be something that you photographers will want to do.
