Google, Is This Restaurant Busy Now?

Google is constantly trying to make life easier for business owners & consumers alike – and their latest venture has been to offer you a way to see your wait time at a specific business so you can avoid long lines by being aware in advance. Google has introduced this new functionality via a “Popular times” display which has been added onto Google Maps for Android, along with the Safari and Chrome browsers. The data is crowdsourced, coming from anonymized and aggregated visits to places from Google users who have opted-in to sharing location data.

The functionality will be available across all locales, and as a business owner you won’t have to do anything to enable it – data will automatically populate for all locations with regular foot traffic & a verified Google Business listing. On the flip-side there also will NOT be any option to disable the display of this data.
