Let’s face it – most webmasters, techies, geeks, and gamers aren’t using a resolution of 1366 x 768 unless they absolutely have to – and yet after digging into the StatCounter charts from 2014 it seems that the resolution of 1366 x 768 is by far the most popular with 19.22% of users on it when factoring in all devices across the world. If we narrow things down further to only desktops we end up with a whopping 29.5% of users worldwide using 1366 x 768 – with 1920 x 1080 coming in at just 10.17%.

Comparing these numbers to those from 2013 we do see that people have definitely started making the move up to higher resolution displays since back in 2013 the 1920 x 1080 resolution size only held a 7.82% market share with 1024 x 768 at 15.21%.

So while I know some of you have been running high resolution monitors for years now – the rest of the world is still slowly catching up.
