Host1Plus has long been a supporter of open source software such as CentOS, a Linux community contributing to an enterprise level operating system; Chakra, a distribution focused on the latest KDE; and Fedora, a community-driven operating system with a take on leading edge technologies. As of last week however Host1Plus has opened up their sponsorship program to all open-source projects.

That means you can now apply with Host1Plus for a sponsorship for your open source project – and upon approval Host1Plus will provide you with the necessary storage and bandwidth to drive your project to fruition.

“The majority of open source projects rely on communities of volunteers that contribute on their free time. In Chakra, our income is generated at large from users’ donations and is used exclusively for covering the expenses of the main server, through which we provide our distribution and all the surrounding services. In this regard, the sponsorship provided to us by Host1plus for our server is a vital component of the survival and future of our project,” says Neophytos Kolokotronis, the communicator at Chakra.

Applications for the Host1Plus sponsorship program can be submitted online at http://www.host1plus.com/sponsorship/ and all inquiries regarding the application may be sent directly to sponsorship(at)host1plus(dot)com.
