You can make use of the varied tools and resources available online for marketing your blog online. You can have a firm grasp of the needs of your readers through research. You can tap the potential offered by various social media sites to know first-hand about the requirements of the audience. You can undertake a SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to understand the ways and means by which you can get the desired results from your blog. You can use the marketing tips enumerated below to achieve your goals and targets within a specified period of time.
Attract traffic through incentives
Word of mouth spreads a lot of information about a product, its design and services. But this can also be achieved by offering incentives such as free services to build a better relationship with clients by establishing a call to action plan. You can also include strategic calls to action like offering incentives for sharing the blog posts or other free services etc., to make your blog posts interactive.
Update new content regularly
You should update new content regularly to keep your blog fresh and alive. You can also include themed content to get a better response from your site. This can help eliminate the writer’s block and create a positive environment for building your business. You can write yourself or hire the services of experienced writers to avoid the delays and put up a good blog in the best possible way!
Make use of the power of Email Marketing
You can reach a wider audience easily within a short span of time by tapping the potential of email marketing. You can use this tool along with a blog campaign or individually to create segmented lists to attract clients with different interests. You can make this tool even more valuable and useful by including eBooks and videos. The power of email marketing is vast and it is in fact the best and most preferred tool to reach a broad audience. If you wish to create a better impact you can use other tools such as infographics and case studies also.
Use giveaways for grabbing attention
You can spread harmony and good will by offering giveaways. But this will be more useful to target new audience. You can get readers to visit your site regularly by giving them things such as eBooks, gift items with your company’s logo printed etc. You can attract people through competition or get sponsors for offering the giveaway.
Use social media tools
The potential of social media still remains to be tapped to a great extent from the angle of good marketing. You can use social media individually or along with other strategies of marketing. You can invite guests to post comments on your blog or use this tool to highlight content that is already there on your blog. You can also use this fascinating tool to advertise your new products and services online. Opening accounts on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn can help you to know about interesting posts that may have been posted online. Blog owners and new business owners online can make use of social media tools to avoid spending a huge amount of money on the blog’s marketing.
Working on a blog can be time consuming and doing unwanted things can only lead to wastage of resources and time. You can use social media channels to highlight the new and interesting aspects of your blog. This can help you to expand your readership. You can use relevant tools such as forums and message boards to start new threads. You can make use of SEO tools to tap the potential of organic search traffic.
You should also take consistent efforts to use the apt keywords since only this can make your content accessible and reliable. This will enable new readers to get hooked to your website! People will not prefer to visit other sites if they are able to find what they want at your site. You can add pictures, videos and other types of information to make your blog fun and lively. This can lead to positive results by attracting viewers with useful information. Readers can also share useful information through social media sites. One of the most important aspects of blogging is to add content on a regular basis. You can make your blog to work for you by including new content almost every day. This can definitely yield very good results. Posting fresh and unique content can attract the readers’ interest and keep them from going to other competitor sites. Submitting your post to RSS directories, creating a top list on your blog or article, creating a well designed slide show based on the topic of your latest article, creating solid connections in your niche, joining online clubs and optimizing your article for search engines are just some of the other ways by which you can market your blog to get the best results.

Having a blog myself i know how difficult it is to drive traffic to my site, gone are the days when you could just buy a few hundred back links and receive visitors. For myself the social networks are key to driving visitors to my blog (as it competes with rather large websites). My blog posts funny articles. top tens, celebrity news etc so there is alot of competition, i find that running competitions or putting one picture on facebook out of a top ten urges people to click through to my site.
I noticed a huge increase in my blog traffic one i placed the +1, tweet and like buttons on each of my posts. I cant believe i didn’t do it earlier. For every one person that clicks like, tweet etc you have free advertising 🙂 what more could you want?
I used to use google adsense but now i often prefer a facebook ad campaign as i believe you can reach your target market easier utilising all the filters. I really like how when one of your friends likes something you can sponsor it to appear in their friends news feed.
Not to mention Twitter now also has sponsored tweets allowing you to start targeting your twitter followers aswell. Social Media definitely made a drastic change in the way we do online marketing.
I haven’t tried the sponsored Tweets yet, How would you rate them compared to facebook ads?
It’s significantly different since you don’t have any images in your tweet to attract attention – so the way you phrase things really becomes key in converting those who read your tweet to those who actually click on it.
So long as you understand this – I don’t think either is better than the other – however both should be utilized.

I have installed a add on, on my word press blog where as users have to click like or re tweet content to receive bonus content, Seems to be working well so far. Great social marketing tips, thank you.
As much as I wish simply having good and solid content would be enough to market a blog, it isn’t. These are great tips for blog marketing, and I personally love your mention of incentives. As a blog reader, these are the things that get me hooked and my personal favourite is getting a free ebook when I’m signing up to a mailing list. Of course, the simpler things go along way too, and in this day and age, the social media tools we have for the internet can be absolute gold for a growing blog/website.
