In the past Google PageRank was everywhere. People would look for advertising slots based on a websites PageRank and everyone within the SEO community was actively working on increasing their websites PageRank. Now it’s important to note that I am referring to the PageRank displayed for a website within the Google Toolbar – not the internal PageRank that Google utilizes. However since December 6th, 2013 Google hasn’t made an update to the toolbar PageRank. Everyone was hoping to see one come this year – if ever again – alas it seems that no update is coming. At all.

Google’s John Mueller said in a Google+ hangout yesterday that they’reĀ probably not going to be updating it [PageRank] going forward, at least in the Toolbar PageRank.
