[frame align=”right”][/frame]UK2 has announced the launch of a new generation of VPS hosting for them – introducing SSD VPS servers earlier in the week. From what I can gather the servers do seem to be truly SSD, not merely SSD enhanced. For those of you unaware of the difference I suggest reading through this post.
The new SSD VPSs from UK2 also feature a one gigabit port and a Premium Cisco-powered network with unlimited bandwidth, further increasing performance over a regular cloud VPS.
“We’ve developed this high spec SSD VPS as we saw there was a gap for affordable, lightning-fast, website and application hosting,” said Andy Manning, UK2.net’s brand manager. “It’s likely to tempt those who might previously have opted for a shared hosting solution, as the pricing is now much more comparable.”
With that said the pricing really is ridiculously comparable to shared hosting at a base SSD VPS running you merely £7.50/month and that comes with 25GB of space and unlimited bandwidth. Furthermore the new UK2 SSD VPS is extremely customizable. The OS can be tailored in lots of ways allowing you to choose from premium templates like Windows or cPanel; or opt for free ones like LAMP stacks or WordPress.
