So first off this isn’t really news, so if you wanted news – read something else. That being said this is kind of interesting – and I doubt I’m the only person out there experiencing this. So back in April of this year Twitter announced an update to trends on mobile platforms. Trending topics are now located on the search page; and English users in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia & New Zealand also get descriptions for the trending hashtag. Actually let me rephrase. English users in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand except my @RapidPurple profile – get descriptions for trending hashtags and a nice graphical feature of the top trending hashtag.

Watch the video featured above – showing me go between my @RapidPurple and my @Metalp3n profile and receive two completely different search experiences. I know that the new search experience is meant for those with tailored trends active on iOS & Android devices – and I double checked that the settings for both accounts were identical – down to allowing for a tailored Twitter experience based on web visits & locations enabled for tweets.

*shrug* – I’m going to give it a few days and see what happens. Maybe, somehow, the new search experience hasn’t rolled out to my @RapidPurple account yet – just to all the other ones I manage. Anyone have any ideas?
