The New York Criminal & Civil Courts Bar Association came to me requiring a members portal to be setup on their site and for Fastcase to be integrated within this system. Fastcase is the leading next-generation legal research service that puts a comprehensive national law library and smarter and more powerful searching, sorting, and visualization tools at your fingertips. Approved members of the NYCCCBA members portal can quickly access Fastcase’s systems utilizing a login link within their members portal. No sign-up or registration for Fastcase is required.
The NYCCCBA members portal creates new members as inactive by default and notifies the system administrator that a new signup has been made. Within the system administrators portal page they can view and manage all users, and activate/deactivate any of them. Once a member is made active they are notified by email that their account has been approved and they can now access the members portal and subsequently Fastcase’s systems.
The system was built into the NYCCCBA’s existing website and site design, so no design work was performed by Rapid Purple or any of our affiliates. All work was performed using PHP and MySQL. Fastcase’s API requires the calculation of a specific key based on a formula you receive when you register as a partner. This was done via Javascript.
