At the end of November, Google changed their SafeSearch handling from three levels (SafeSearch could be “Off”, “Moderate” or “On”) to just “On” or “Off.” From what I have been hearing since then – image traffic has dropped significantly since this change. Now, Google states that: for sexually explicit content, our filter mainly relies on algorithms that look at many factors, including keywords, links, and images.

However this doesn’t tell us what exactly these algorithms are. I have seen many examples of completely safe images being blocked by the new Google SafeSearch. So, how do you fix this? Go here, fill out the form, and let Google know. Thank me later.
