Hurricane Sandy has definitely caused quiet the damage among the East Coast – and within all that havoc it flooded the Datagram datacenter; home to Gawker, Buzzfeed, and Gizmodo. The company’s latest update is as follows:

10/31 08:02:The building’s engineers are pumping out the last of the water while electricians and ConEd are inspecting all of the basements in the area for damage. Power can not be restored until all basements are clear. Roll up generators are not allowed in the area until all the water is removed and ConEd gives the all-clear.

Sadly this isn’t the only datacenter experiencing troubles in NYC. Data Center Knowledge has reported on numerous datacenters experiencing troubles and down time due to water damage.
