[frame align=”left”][/frame]InMotion Hosting has secretly been hard at work upgrading all of their shared hosting plans with a whole slew of awesome new features and I wanted to take a moment and outline those changes here.
SSDs
Solid-state drives are now available for new customers. SSDs can be used for databases, CMS applications, and static websites.
SSH
Secure remote access to the server through the command line.
PostgreSQL
InMotion customers now have the option of using MySQL and PostgreSQL for their databases.
Ruby
InMotion shared hosting accounts now fully support the Ruby on Rails framework.
Unlimited sites on the Pro Plan
No limitations on the maximum number of sites you can manage under one account in the shared hosting environment with the Pro Plan. This means unlimited domains, subdomains, and parked domains.
SLA on the Pro Plan
The InMotion terms of Service will reflect a new SLA for the Pro Plan specifically to ensure 99.9% uptime. You can read the updated section here.
WP-CLI is Now Available for Use in Conjunction with SSH
This tool is for WordPress specific users which allows for easy management of multiple WordPress accounts through the command line. This allows for easy mass installation of new accounts, as well as updating and adding plugins.
Pre-installed Choice of WordPress, Joomla, or PrestaShop
All InMotion customers will have the option of choosing one of these three CMSs pre-installed into their hosting account.
Easier Google Apps Integration
Within cPanel, if you have purchased a Google Apps account, you can change your DNS to point to Google Apps with InMotion’s easy to use setup wizard. This means that you, the webmaster, no longer have to manually point your DNS to Google or follow any complex steps.
