Softaculous has released another update to their famous automated script installer, bringing with it a great new feature allowing users to setup automated backups of their scripts entire directory right from the install/edit installation page.

Now there are plenty of other great features too, however the new automated backups is by far my favorite of the bunch. Other noteworthy upgrades include:

  1. The ability for admins to choose to prepend a prefix for Admin Username field for their endusers on the script install form.
  2. All scripts requirements can be checked from the Softaculous Admin panel to determine which scripts might not work on the server.
  3. Added settings in Softaculous Admin panel to individually disable New installation, Remove installation, Edit installation, Backup installation emails sent to the endusers.
  4. Added setting to disable Backup installations emails from the Softaculous Enduser panel -> Email Settings.

Various bug fixes were also included, as has become standard with these updates. Anyone on a shared hosting platform, either our own or with one of our affiliates, should already have access to all the new features introduced with Softaculous 4.2.7.
