Yahoo has confirmed a a global, non-exclusive agreement with Google to display ads on various Yahoo! properties and certain co-branded sites using Google’s AdSense for Content and Google’s AdMob services. Yahoo users wont actually notice much of a difference as far as how or where ads appear – the only difference will be that Google Adsense advertisements will now be mixed into the bunch. As an advertiser (as well as an AdSense publisher) it brings greater opportunities, and brings better quality to some of the weaker AdSense sites in the inventory. As an advertiser, I welcome it.

By adding Google to our list of world-class contextual ads partners, we’ll be able to expand our network, which means we can serve users with ads that are even more meaningful.

From the point of view of competition however, it is quite sad to see the strengthening of Google’s position, or should I say, the apparent weakening of Microsoft’s, and its ad inventory (where I also advertise).
