While we wait on the Google Panda refresh, which still hasn’t rolled out, Google’s Gary Illyes confirmed on Twitter over the weekend that we will be waiting even longer for a Penguin refresh.

The last Penguin update was Penguin 3.0 which started rolling out back in October 2014 – and that’s quiet a long time to wait to wait. Granted this has also given people plenty of time to clean up their link profiles and attempt to recover from any past Penguin related issues – as near impossible as recovery is.

While some people have made the assumption that a Penguin refresh won’t happen this year – Gary Illyes has stepped in to say that Google is working hard on getting a Penguin refresh out there – alas that doesn’t really guarantee anything.

Ultimately we’ll have to see what happens. What we do know from this all is that we shouldn’t be expecting any Google Penguin refresh until it’s closer to Fall/Winter time at least.
