The end of July brought around v7.1 of BigCommerce – which included some much anticipated features such as custom URLs and bandwidth reporting. The end of September brought about the first sneak peaks at v7.2 (which by now is running on all BigCommerce sites) which offers enhanced API features, SocialShop 2, and the ability to import and export those custom URL’s that v7.1 introduced.

Enhanced API

For starters BigCommerce has greatly enhanced the flexibility of their API, opening the doors for independent developers to easily code their own widgets and applications for BigCommerce. The new API is currently in beta (they’re accepting signups) and will be rolled out to everyone shortly.

SocialShop 2

More-so your fans can now complete the entire browsing and buying process without ever leaving Facebook, thanks to SocialShop 2 – free with all BigCommerce plans! BigCommerce is now the only e-commerce platform that lets you sell through your own online store, end-to-end on Facebook, via mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android), eBay and the most popular shopping comparison websites. Check out the video below for more info:

Import/Export Custom URLs

In v7.1 BigCommerce  introduced custom URLs for products, categories, brands and web pages and to say they were a success is an understatement. In BigCommerce 7.2 they’ve added the ability to import and export custom URLs as part of a regular import or export – so they’re available as an additional field in the CSV file making it easy to bulk add or update them as required.

So go ahead – try Big Commerce FREE for 15 days! See why it’s the best way to sell online!
