With the introduction of these new plans 1&1 is running a discount on all of their new WordPress plans. So the Basic $5.99/mo plan goes down to $0.99/mo for the 1st year; the $8.99/mo plan gets dropped down to $5.99/mo for the 1st year; and finally the $14.99/mo plan goes to $10.99/mo for the 1st month. An annual billing cycle is required to take advantage of the discounted pricing.
