Sandoony Spa, located in Brooklyn – New York, came to me with a full flash-based website that they needed to get away from and build something a bit more modern, more intuitive, and easily accessible across a wide range of devices. As such their original flash website was scrapped and work started on a brand new site, build entirely utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery. The new design features a prominent jQuery slider within the header area showcasing photographs of some of the key features, while a text-based jQuery slider is located underneath that to provide more in-depth information about the available features at Sandoony Spa. Finally a small image gallery is provided, displaying each image in a lightbox.
Moving on from here seperate pages were created to provide information about the different sauna’s and pools available at Sandoony Spa, along with a detailed price-list styled via CSS3. Lastly a sliding side-bar was added to easily display Facebook and Twitter share buttons to help grow the social networking presence for Sandoony.
In order to make sure that the new website works flawlessly across multiple platforms I utilized a responsive design – this way everything adapts to smaller screen sizes and mobile devices.
