Building up capital for a small business can be a bit of a hassle sometimes, and having the correct cash-flow at exactly the correct time to launch new advertising campaigns does not always happen. However what if you did have the necessary funds to launch an advertising campaign, say right before the holiday season? Before hand you would have to look for various methods of funding, whether through a cash advance, or a bank loan – however obtaining a bank loan to do online advertising is rather difficult. Google aims to fix this by introducing credit cards to its Google Adwords members. Claire Johnson, vice president of global online sales at Google, said the credit card was designed to help small and medium-sized businesses that advertise on Google but who often don’t have the funds to support a heavy ad campaign ahead of a big sales season, such as Valentine’s day or Halloween.

The AdWords card is a MasterCard that will be issued through the Comenity Capital Bank and will come with no annual fee and a 8.99% annual percentage rate – and will only allow cardholders to use the card for Google Adwords purchases. Google won’t say to whom it plans to offer the card, but claims that the maximum credit line will vary by cardholder. Select customers should get an invitation to start using the credit card in a “beta test” pretty soon.
