GoDaddy has always tried to make it as easy as possible for small business owners to setup their online presence, whether it be via building their website using the GoDaddy Website Builder, or setting up corporate email accounts; so it comes of little surprise when this past weekend GoDaddy went ahead and purchased Locu, an online business promotion service aimed at small business owners.

Locu epitomizes what GoDaddy is all about – both companies are hell-bent on helping the ‘little guy’ thrive on the Internet,” commented Go Daddy CEO Blake Irving via a press release.

Irving continued, “Locu is comprised of amazing technologists who have taken the very complex problem of helping small businesses ‘get found’ wherever consumers are looking and are solving it through elegant, technology-based services. We are welcoming some of the brightest technology minds on the planet to our GoDaddy family.

Among Locu’s customers are restaurants, accountants, photographers and others. Locu’s clientele base includes over 30 thousand businesses.

And while the acquisition is new, it’s not the first time that Go Daddy has done work with Locu. Locu’s services have been together since May when GoDaddy integrated Locu into its easy-to-use Website Builder. With the integration, service-oriented businesses were given a simple solution to automatically create, manage and update their menu and service lists in a way that gives business owners complete control of their digital identity, whether they’re using a smartphone or a desktop computer.

Personally I’m quiet curious to see what new technologies and features this will produce from GoDaddy.
