Google has just released Google Chrome 39 Beta to the Beta channel with some pretty cool new developer-oriented additions that webmasters should love.

For starters those of you on a 64-bit Mac will be happy to know that Chrome 39 finally brings in support for 64-Bit Mac stations. Furthermore web animations support has been enhanced with a playback control which now supports methods like play(), pause(), and reverse(), as well as adding the ability to jump to a specific point in a timeline.

ECMAScript 6 Generators are now supported and early support for Web Manifests has been introduced, a central file for storing metadata associated with a web application (name, display mode, orientation, opening URL, links to icons). A code sample is available here.

Google Chrome 39 Beta is available now for Windows, Mac and Linux on the Beta channel. The final release should be available in November, but of course if you need something stable then there’s always Chrome 38  Interested in switching release channels? Find out how.
