Earlier on this year Google incorporated carousel search results for mobile users browsing for specific news events and topics. Originally the carousel worked solely off of rich snippets from a websites articles – showcasing various articles related to your search term. Well yesterday Google announced, with no real fan-fare, that the carousel will now also feature Pinterest pins, Vines, Houzz idea books and Food Network recipes.

Some webmasters are already complaining that this is yet another move to pull views away from websites by offering the user everything they need within a Google search. On the other hand however Google is showcasing more and more content – bringing potential views that may have never found your website otherwise. What do you think?

I personally haven’t seen Pinterest pins or Vines within the search results on my mobile phone – however most things with Google take a few days to fully roll out to everyone. Keep an eye out for it – and once it rolls out for you let us know what you’re thoughts are in the comments below.
