Google Still Has Money

A recent phishing email has been going around to Gmail users stating: “We are shutting down some accounts due to congestion in our database system and your account was chosen to be deleted …”.

They continue further asking for your username and password to make sure that you’re account avoids “permanently lockup”. The email comes from[email protected]. Below is a shot of the full text:

It’s obvious Google has not run out of money. Nowhere close. Furthermore “UserName” and “PassWord”? Come on now.

We have heard that there have been some modifications to the email – some come with a donation link asking you to help and donate money to google via your paypal. 2 birds – 1 stone? Phishy phishers.

Keep a lookout, let your friends know. And as always you can report such emails and links to Google directly: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/
