Pingdom has published their year in review for 2015, which is probably my favorite yearly review. It touches base on the growth of web performance and features some amazing statistics – which if you have the time I highly recommend you browse through.

However, in my usual fashion, here is a summary featuring some of my favorite statistics regarding the Internet in the past year.

  • Pingdom tests revealed more than 400,000 website outages every day.
  • Those outages equaled up to 7.7 billion minutes of downtime.
  • The average web page loaded in 5 seconds.
  • The average web page was 3mb in size, and featured 42 images, 21 JS scripts, and 89 total requests.
