The transparent video player that YouTube is testing is pretty awesome; however forcing YouTube to let you try it out took some work. Luckily the new player is now available in TestTube – YouTube’s own experiment playground much like Google Labs used to be.
Right now there are 2 “experiments” listed there, 1 for 4K videos and the second for the new transparent video player. If you want to check out the 4K videos – YouTube has made a playlist of their favorite 4K videos for you to try out. If you want the new transparent video player all you have to do is hit the button and the new player will be enabled for your YouTube account.
