There you are – browsing the web – searching for that cat scratching post you saw on someone’s Facebook – when suddenly you see it in a Google ad! You happily click it and then bam – you are redirected somewhere totally different – reading about the latest in celebrity breast implants?! Welcome to the world of clickjacking. Clickjacking sucks – and anyone who has found themselves on the receiving end of it knows this. Lately however – it’s become such a common practice that Google has rolled out a new set of algorithms to help thwart clickjacking attempts.

Earlier this year when our operations team identified Clickjacking activity on our display network, they moved swiftly to terminate accounts, removing entities involved in or attempting to use this technique to trick users. Our engineering team worked in parallel to quickly release a filter to automatically exclude this type of invalid traffic across display ads.
