Google announced a new update rolling out to the Google My Business mobile application which intends to keep a business owners attention on their reviews and allow for an easy way to respond to reviews and complaints. Originally the Google My Business app is meant to simply allow you, the business owner, to update the business information, post to Google+, and track how visible your business is across Google sites. The new update will now allow you to see reviews posted on the web, about your business, in real time. Furthermore you can respond immediately to all reviews straight from your phone.

In order to keep you aware of when new reviews and/or complaints come in the app will send out push notifications of each review. You can then launch the app to respond to the review instantly.

In comparison Yelp’s mobile app is designed solely for the consumer – and as such business owners must login to the Yelp website on their computer in order to manage their business and respond to reviews.
