As spotted on Tuesday, October 28th, Lysol seems to have spent some serious cash and bought themselves the top ad spot on Google for ebola searches. I’m not seeing the ad appear much as of today already (October 30th) – however this was interesting while it lasted. Google searches for ebola have sky rocketed, understandably – and Lysol is aiming to capitalize on this.

Now I know this will strike some of you the wrong way – however before you let that happen just think about this for a moment. They are a business, and as a business their job is to sell a product. As far as marketing goes – this is genius. Plus, nearly one hundred years ago, in 1918, Lysol’s advertised itself in the New York Times as a cure for the Spanish Influenza virus.
