After months of testing, and with a reach surpassing 150 million unique monthly users, Pinterest is finally ready to jump into the PPC world. Pinterest is common destination for those looking for products and ideas with roughly 2 billion searches each month.

Capitalizing on these stats could prove extremely beneficial for Pinterest. The current plan is to run ads on a cost-per-click basis and focus primarily on image-based ads. In the beginning ads will be sold directly through a partnership with Kenshoo. However in the future Pinterest does plan to offer an online interface to enable advertisers to bid and set-up new campaigns themselves – much like with Google Adwords.

I can imagine Pinterest has the potential to be a great advertising source for small businesses looking to get their products out there – especially considering that 97% of search queries on Pinterest do not mention any specific brand. Out of 2 billion searches – that is 1,940,000,000 search queries that can potentially showcase your product! Keep a look out at https://ads.pinterest.com to kick-off your Pinterest PPC campaign!
