JSON-LD is a relatively new, easy-to-use, JSON-based, link data format that allows you to easily and quickly add Schema structured markup tags to just about any page or website without modifying any of the HTML structure. The biggest benefit to JSON-LD is that the specified Schema markup is entirely separate from the HTML code – where you would normally find your Schema tags. Instead your JSON-LD syntax is specified in the websites section. For example here is some simple authorship markup with the standard microdata schema markup:

Simply paste the JSON-LD syntax into your section of your website and the Schema markup is applied to your page. The full specifications and requirements for the JSON-LD syntax are available on json-ld.org, however to make your life even easier Joe Hall has developed a free online JSON-LD Schema Generator which you can use to quickly generate all the necessary JSON-LD syntax.

You just fill out a couple of form fields, provide your data, and everything you need is generated for you. Just copy/paste the generated code into the section of your website.
