Google’s Matt Cutts announced back in January of this year the death of guest blogging – and since then Google has been sure to push the stake in deeper and deeper into the heart of guest blogging. With that said Google has finally updated its webmaster guidelines to add “low quality guest blog-posts” to the list of things that will downrank your website.

Brian Ussery first spotted the following update a few days ago:

I have touched upon my own frustrations with guest blogging and the low quality content that is often associated with it; so I can’t say I have anything against this update – furthermore low-quality guest blogging was dead way before Google made this official change.
