DigitalOcean has announced the launch of a brand new online incubator program geared towards supporting startups. Meet Hatch – a unique startup program which not only offers participants access to DigitalOcean cloud for up to 12 months with a credit up to $100,000; but it also offers up free technical training and 1-on-1 mentorship – helping to provide an educational experience along with offering infrastructure credits.
“Use of the cloud has significantly decreased the capital required to start a business, yet still remains one of the largest expenses founding teams face in the early days,” DigitalOcean co-founder and CEO Ben Uretsky said in a statement. “We got started as part of the Techstars accelerator program so we understand, firsthand, the challenges and what it takes to launch and scale a company. That’s why we’re supporting the next generation of startups in getting their products off the ground.”
Currently Hatch is rolling out as a pilot beta supporting a small group of 100 startups. In the future Hatch will be opened up for more applicants. If you wish to apply, there are a few requirements you will need to meet:
- You must be backed by a partner accelerator, incubator, or VC firm.
- Less than 24 months in company duration.
- Less than $10 million raised, up to Series A.
- Startups who’ve received previous DigitalOcean promotional credit may not be eligible to receive additional credit.
