Amazon has quietly been working on their very own corporate email and calendar service called WorkMail which is finally being given some publicity. The service is focused highly on security and ease of use and will obviously be powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). WorkMail is designed to be fully compatible with Microsoft Outlook and other e-mail applications and will be competitive price-wise with Office 365 and Google’s enterprise offerings.

That said Amazon is considering $4 for each e-mail inbox on WorkMail. Amazon WorkMail and Amazon WorkDocs can also be purchased together for $6 per user per month. This option includes 50 GB of Amazon WorkMail mailbox storage and 200 GB of Amazon WorkDocs storage for each user. You’ll be able to get started for free with a 30-day trial of Amazon WorkMail for up to 25 users.

A preview is available now for those wanting to sign up for an early look.
