Google Code, as of today, is in read-only mode. That means that developers and fellow project owners will no longer be able to modify their projects in any capacity. Data can still be downloaded – and best of all it can be exported to GitHub – which is basically where your project should be from now on. After this read-only period, which is scheduled to end on January 2016, Google Code projects will be available as Web pages only, there won’t be any version control access to the code, and private repositories will become inaccessible.

The only projects that will continue to work under a read-write setting until the end of the year will be Google’s Chromium and Android repos, but they are scheduled for relocation as well.
