The first major change to you’re Instagram feed is coming. Much in the style of Facebook, Instagram (owned by Facebook) is looking into changing the order in which we see posts in our IGfeeds. The concept being that we’re just not seeing the posts that we should be seeing.

You may be surprised to learn that people miss on average 70 percent of their feeds.

So – rather than continue to show IG posts in a chronological order – Instagram instead wants to determine the order to show posts based on you’re personal likes, relationships and past interactions.

The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post.

The concept is nice – assuming Instagram gets it right – furthermore businesses should see much more targeted interaction since you’re favorite customers will now always see you’re Instagram posts – even if they sign on 5 hours after you posted.

An important note I must make here – currently Instagram is only changing the order of you’re posts – meaning that all of the posts will still be there in you’re feed. Nothing is being removed – yet. How this will go in the future is anyone’s guess.
