The social network for professionals announced yesterday that they recently crossed an important milestone. LinkedIn now counts over 200 million members. LinkedIn was launched in 2003 and soon became a popular network for professionals, where they connect with peers and discuss more than what to wear to a party, or post pictures of lolcats.

In the beginning of 2011, LinkedIn announced it has reached 100 million users, and in the beginning of November 2012 they surpassed 187 million users. Now it has 200 million LinkedIn members as part of the network, with representation in more than 200 countries and territories. LinkedIn serves its members in 19 languages around the world? So what are the numbers in detail exactly?

74 million LinkedIn users are from the U.S.A., 11 million are in the U.K., 7 million are in Canada, 18 million are in India and 11 million are based in Brazil. The fastest-growing country is Turkey, followed by Colombia and Indonesia. According to Mashable, LinkedIn has been growing at a rate of 10 million to 15 million users per quarter last year.
