Twitter seems to really like the number 140 considering that is their tweet character limit, and now also their video length limit. That’s right – you can now upload videos that are up to 140 seconds in length!

Things don’t just stop there however. Twitter also owns Vine – and as such the same 140 second video limit is being extended over to Vine – albeit with a slight change. Vine users will see the first 6 seconds of a 140 second video as a “trailer” – and then be prompted with a watch more link which they can follow to see the rest of the video. If they don’t hit the watch more button on a Vine, nothing changes.

Taking things a step further the discovery of videos is also changing. Opening up a 140-second video — on either Twitter or Vine — will launch you into a full-screen view with suggestions for similar videos – much like how playing a video on Facebook has the option of scrolling down for more videos.
