If you think it’s been a while since you’ve heard about any updates or changes to the Vine platform – you’d be right. Twitter has sat rather stagnant with Vine for a long time now, and as such when the official announcement regarding the closing of Vine came out yesterday – there wasn’t much surprise.

Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Today, we are sharing the news that in the coming months we’ll be discontinuing the mobile app.

For those of you with an existing Vine profile – there is no need to panic. Everything will still remain online for the next few months, and Vine has vowed to offer plenty of time for everyone to get to download their Vines if they want to. Plus the Vine website will remain so that all the pre-existing Vine videos can continue to be viewed. So go ahead, one last time, do it for the Vine.
