Recently I have been working on a custom dashboard for a local car rental company, writing it in PHP & MySQL with a jQuery-powered interface – and I started to wonder just how many websites out there were using jQuery these days. See I remember the Internet when jQuery wasn’t even around, and since 2006 I have been watching it grow and grow.

These days jQuery is utilized on 65% of the top 10 million highest trafficked websites, and based on the recent reports from BuiltWith jQuery is now on 28.5% of ALL websites.

Considering the sheer amount of alternative JS frameworks out there these numbers say alot about the syntax within jQuery if this many developers continue to utilize it.
