Analytics. Insights. However you want to call it – having the right data is crucial in making the right marketing decisions. Facebook knows this all too well, especially when a mere 42% of marketers feel like their Facebook efforts are working. As such the social network has announced the roll-out of several new metrics for Facebook Page Insights, which should help showcase the effectiveness of a Facebook marketing campaign.

2 New Metrics for Advertisers

The first two metrics focus around Facebook ads. Landing Page Views is a new metric which will showcase the amount of people who visit your landing page after clicking on an ad. Furthermore the Pre-Impression Activity Breakdown will showcase whether or not the people engaging with your landing page or app are new visitors or not.

3 New Page Audience Metrics

Next up are 3 new metrics for all Facebook page owners. These focus around providing a more in-depth view at your page’s audience. These metrics, once available for your page, will be visible within the Overview tab within Insights.

Page Followers will showcase the number of followers a page gains or loses over time, along with insights into where followers come from, and general demographics.

Page Previews shows the number of people who have seen your Facebook page information but haven’t ever clicked to visit the page.

Page Recommendations will show the number of times your page has been recommended by someone.

Facebook says all the above-mentioned metrics should be fully rolled out within the next few weeks. I’m already seeing some of these available across a few of my clients Facebook pages – so if you don’t see the new metrics yet – you will soon. Just keep checking your Page Insights tab!
